Bachelor's/Master's thesis (m/f/d): Residual bus simulation of CAN and Ethernet in the automotive sector

Location: Reutlingen, Germany

Tasks:

  • Familiarization with the basics of CAN and Automotive Ethernet protocols
  • Development and implementation of a flexible and configurable residual bus simulation in Python
  • Signals are to be extracted from a DBC, CANdb++ or FIBEX file and sent as a cyclic signal.
  • Filtering, manipulation and simulations of signals and messages should also be possible
  • It should be possible to read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) from ECUs and visualize it in a GUI
  • The configuration should be done using a configuration file or via a GUI
  • Control of various CAN interfaces via API Integration of BroadR-Reach communication via the Ethernet interface using a media converter
  • Setting up a real use case with real and simulated ECUs to validate the developed residual bus simulation
  • Documentation of the work results and preparation of a final presentation
