Our task was to create a seamless connection between tradition and modernity. For this purpose, we have developed innovative infotainment systems that are specifically tailored to the classics of the traditional British manufacturer. With the most modern features, such as a DAB+ tuner, smartphone integration and satellite navigation, we brought premium young and vintage cars up to date with the latest technology. Particular attention was paid to the seamless visual integration of the systems, so that the impression of factory equipment is created. Our idea was to create a driving experience of the future without losing the charm of a traditional classic.
We generally view the integration of modern technology into classic cars as an exciting challenge in which we combine the glorious past with the future. Through the use of technology and innovation, opportunities exist to enrich the ownership and driving experience of your classic vehicle. The classic infotainment system integrates seamlessly into the authentic interior design of the vehicles and offers modern technologies. This means you can enjoy the best entertainment and comprehensive information on every journey. The system combines the best of both worlds: a vehicle from the golden era, equipped with the latest technology. The systems were designed in particular for the classic XJ40, XJS and XJ Series 3 Saloon, but they also fit wonderfully into vehicles of a similar character.
We supply the Universal Classic Radio with state-of-the-art technology for the Italian manufacturer of hand-made classic super sports cars Totem Automobili. It is installed in the Totem GTElectric. The restomod model stays true to the classic line of Alfa Romeo’s Giulia GT, combining design with the performance of an all-new electric powertrain. The right car radio should also be classic in aesthetics and technically state-of-the-art. Totem Automobili wanted to individually install the Universal Classic Radio into its GTElectric. When you turn on the radio, the Totem logo should appear on the display.
Four criteria were crucial for Totem to choose us: On the one hand, the Italians were looking for a suitable 1-DIN slot radio solution that would fit seamlessly into the cockpit of the classic with a perfect retrofit design. The Universal Classic Radio is based on the style of the early 1970s and thus ensures classic elegance. On the other hand, the workmanship of the radio had to meet the high demands of the luxury sports car. Krämer Automotive Systems relied on high-quality materials such as chrome-plated metal buttons and a frame made of metal instead of plastic. Thirdly, the radio for Totem should be customizable and fourthly, it should use the latest technology to ensure the vehicle owner’s comfort. Thanks to our years of experience in the development and sales of high-tech car radios as 1-DIN systems specifically for the classic market, we were able to meet Totem’s requirements.
Since its founding in 1997, Mechatronik GmbH from Pleidelsheim has established itself as an internationally renowned specialist company for Mercedes-Benz classics. With over 40 employees in more than 6,000 square meters of workshop space, the company offers services such as repairs, maintenance, restorations and technical modifications. In the New Tech series, which includes models such as M-SL, M-Coupé and M-Cabriolet, mechatronics relies on our advanced radio systems. These devices offer functions such as DAB+, navigation, Bluetooth, interactive touchscreen operation and an equalizer for individual sound optimization. Particular emphasis is placed on ensuring that these systems fit harmoniously into the original interior of the classic vehicles and preserve their authentic character. Through this integration, drivers of New Tech models enjoy the convenience of modern entertainment technologies without losing the charm of their classics. Mechatronics and Krämer successfully demonstrate how tradition and modernity can be harmonized in order to meet the demands of demanding customers.den.
