Krämer Automotive – We look forward to seeing you – get connected with us!

As part of this bachelor’s or master’s thesis, a residual bus simulation for CAN (Controller Area Network) and Ethernet in the automotive sector is to be developed. Residual bus simulations play a central role in the validation and verification of electronic control units (ECUs) as they can realistically reproduce the vehicle bus in the laboratory. We are therefore looking for a committed person who would like to complete their bachelor’s or master’s thesis with us.

Tasks:

  • Familiarization with the basics of CAN and Automotive Ethernet protocols
  • Development and implementation of a flexible and configurable residual bus simulation in Python
  • Signals should be extracted from a DBC, CANdb++ or FIBEX file and sent as a cyclic signal. Filtering, manipulation and simulation of signals and messages should also be possible
  • It should be possible to read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) from control devices and visualize it in a GUI
  • The configuration should be done using a configuration file or via a GUI
  • Control of various CAN interfaces using API
  • Integration of BroadR-Reach communication via the Ethernet interface using a media converter
  • Building a real use case with real and simulated control devices to validate the developed residual bus simulation
  • Documentation of the work results and creation of a final presentation

Profile:

  • You should study computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or something similar
  • You should know the Python programming language
  • You should understand how bus systems work
  • Knowledge of the CAN and Ethernet bus systems is an advantage
  • You should have gained initial experience in the automotive sector

We offer:

A dedicated team and a variety of benefits that you shouldn’t miss:

  • Flexibility to attend private appointments at any time thanks to our flextime model
  • An open working atmosphere with flat hierarchies where every voice counts
  • Free drinks and fresh fruit are available for you every day
  • Strengthening team cohesion through monthly events
